Book Week

It’s Book Week! During Book Week we have our “Old Library Book” sale where children can purchase two books for a gold coin donation. Books can be purchased in class time, or before and after school with parents or guardians. All proceeds will go towards purchasing more great books for the children to enjoy in the Library.

We would also like to invite parents, grandparents and guardians to enjoy some reading time with your child/ren in the Library before or after school. We will also have games and activities available.

And of course, our big event on Friday 24 August is our Book Character Parade! For the Infants (Prep – Yr 2) the costume parade will begin at 8:55am in the PA Centre and for the Junior classes (Yr 3-6) the costume parade will be held in the same venue directly after, at 9:50am.

Infant Parade will still take place on Thursday 23 August 2018 and will begin at the usual time, which is 8:50am.  Due to the Book Week Character Parade there will be no Parade for the Junior School on Friday.

Friday 24 August is also the last day for Premier’s Reading Challenge, so please encourage your child to keep reading and recording their books on the School Reader Record Form. All students who complete the Challenge will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Premier of Queensland and presented by Councillor Denise Sims during Parade later in the year.
