Library Book Week

It’s that time of year again…from 19-24 August we celebrate Book Week! During Book Week we will have our “Old Library Book” sale where children can purchase a book/s for a gold coin donation. Books can be purchased in class time, or before and after school with parents or guardians. All proceeds will go towards purchasing more great books for the children to enjoy in the Library.

We would also like to invite parents, grandparents and guardians to enjoy some reading time with your child/ren in the Library before or after school. We will also have games and activities available.

And of course, our big event on Friday 24 August is our Book Character Parade! A letter will go out at the end of this week telling you all about it.

Friday 24 August is also the last day for Premier’s Reading Challenge, so please encourage your child to keep reading and recording their books on the School Reader Record Form. All students who complete the Challenge will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Premier of Queensland and presented by Councillor Denise Sims during Parade later in the year.

And don’t forget we still have our Reading Rangers After School Book Club where students enjoy sharing what they have been reading and participate in craft or activities associated with books, library or literacy. It’s a lot of fun! Please see library staff for further information.
