Lunchtime AFL Auskick

AFL Auskick is being offered to Prep to Year 2 students. Application forms have been given to students and anyone wanting to participate should apply as soon as possible. The program will commence on 7 August and run each Tuesday lunchtime until the end of Term 3. Each session will last from 12:50-1:20 on the college oval. Students are asked to meet the AFL coaches at the flag poles at the start of lunch and then head to the oval. Students are advised to bring a pair of sneakers to change into before each session.

Infant Sports Day (P-2 Athletics)

The day after the Ekka public holidays on Thursday 16 August (Week 5) we will hold our annual Infant Sports Day (P-2 Athletics). Students will compete in running races and participate in a number of sport rotation activities with their class up until lunchtime. It’s always a fun and colourful spectacle! We look forward to seeing lots of family members come and support their children.

After School Softball

Applications will be sent out soon offering an After School Softball program for Year 4-6 students. The program is funded as part of the Sporting Schools initiative and run in conjunction with fully qualified coaches. Places are limited so please apply as soon as you receive the email. The program will run each Monday (Week 6 – 10) from 3:15-4:15pm on the college oval starting 20 August until 17 September. Students enrolled will need to have sports shoes and a hat to participate. Term 3 After School Sport

The Brisbane Roar Community Team will be bringing a six week football (soccer) program to our school next term. Starting Tuesday 7 August and running for six Tuesdays (not including EKKA public holiday) until 18 September on the school oval after school, the sessions begin at 3:15 pm and run for one hour. Parents who sign their child/ren into the program are asked to promptly collect them at the end of the session. District Athletics Carnival

The 10-12 yrs Pine Rivers District Athletics Carnival took place today and yesterday. Well done to all students who represented our college. The Met-North Regional Championships will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday 28 and 29 August.

AFL Gala Afternoon

An AFL Gala afternoon will take place on the college oval for Year 4 and 5 students on Thursday 23 August. Boys and girls will be separated into teams with a boys and girls pool of games taking place from 1pm-3pm. We look forward to a fun afternoon of AFL. (tag rules apply, no tackling).

Congratulations to Ajay Steele who was selected to represent the Pine Rivers District Cricket Team at the upcoming Met-North Championships on Wednesday 5 September. We wish Ajay and the Pine Rivers Team all the best on the day.
