The Infant Athletics Carnival took place on Thursday, 17 August. It was great to see a huge turnout of parents and family members to cheer on our Preps, Year 1 and Year 2 students. A big thank you to all the staff who officiated events and well done to all the students for their excellent effort under hot and dry conditions.

Our Northpine Christian College Athletics team competed admirably at the recent Pine Rivers District Athletics. A number of our students produced personal best results. The major highlight was our 12 Year boys relay team (Sydney Arthur, Saxton Arthur, Xavier Thomson and Riley Waterton) finishing in first place and being selected to represent the Pine Rivers District team at the upcoming Met-North Regional Championships at UQ. Other notable mentions to the following students who will also compete at individual events at the Met North regional athletics carnival: Riley McKenzie – Long Jump, Xavier Thomson – Discus Throw.
AFTER SCHOOL SPORT PROGRAMS
Brisbane Roar will continue running an after school program in Term 3 on Tuesday afternoons.
NETBALL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
A Sporting Schools funded Netball program will run for four weeks commencing in Week 7 of Term 3. Students from Years 3-6 are welcome to apply however spaces are limited. Registration details will be sent out shortly to parents via email. The program will run in the Indoor Sports Centre from Monday 21 August to Monday 11 September 3:15-4:15pm. TENNIS AT LUNCHTIMES
The Hotshots Junior Tennis Program continues at Northpine for 2017. Tennis coaches will be here on Tuesdays for the Year 2-5 students and on Fridays for Prep-Year 1 students. If you would like your child to register please call John Sorensen on 0422 940 132.
DISTRICT TRIAL DATES
Any students with a high level of skills or previous club experience in the following sports are encouraged to see Mr Wood-Johnson for details of upcoming District Trials. Permission forms will become available around two weeks prior to the date of each trial. A maximum of three students per age group (10-12 year olds) can be selected.
