Principal’s Briefing

Term 2 is winding to a close, marking is complete and reports are available to you in the Parent Portal so you can read them and make informed decisions as you make bookings for Parent Teacher interview day which is coming up on Thursday June 22. We have set aside time from 10.30 – 12.30, 1.30 – 4.30 and 5.30 – 7.30 for interviews. Instructions for how to book an appointment can be found here. Appointments can be made on-line. This is an important process and I urge you to make the time to come and discuss your child/children’s progress with their teachers so that we can better work together for their academic good for the remainder of 2017.

The final week of school will be a busy one with the ASSA Middle/Senior Basketball Competition which happened on our Campus today and the Middle/Senior Athletics Carnival happening on Friday the 23rd.  Hopefully all the rainy weather has passed and we will be able to enjoy these important carnivals.

We also welcome our Yr 10 students back from Work Experience this week. Thank you parents for transporting them to and from work. We trust that the experience has given each of these students some clarity about the world of work and what they might like to study for the next two years to prepare for life after school.

Mrs Coralde will be taking maternity leave at the end of this term for the rest of this year. We wish Mr and Mrs Coralde all the best as they become parents again. I am pleased to be able to share with you that Ms Linda Harrod-Eagles will be joining our Northpine Secondary team to teach Art while Mrs Coralde is away.

We would also like to wish Mrs Millist much of God’s blessing as she moves with her husband to the Gold Coast. We have appreciated her hard work and vision for our Resource Centre and will miss her as she moves on with the next stage of her journey. Mrs Kim Mamata will be joining the Northpine staff, replacing Mrs Millist.

This is the final official newsletter for Term 2 so it is important to remind you that Monday July 10 is a pupil free day as teachers will be involved in in-service for the day. Classes will commence on Tuesday July 11 for Term 3.

I hope that all of you find some time for family and fun over the mid-year break.

God bless

-Mr Graham Baird, Principal
