Welcome back to Term 4, 2017, which is now well underway. Our Year 12 students have three weeks of school left before they sit for their final exams and then enjoy the celebrations associated with completing their schooling. No doubt they will be will looking forward to an enjoyable and relaxing time together on their camp.
While this is a significant time for our Year 12 students, it is important that all our students remain focused on their studies right through to the end of the year so that they can obtain the best possible results on their final report.
By all accounts, Big Camp 2017 was a great success. I understand that there were some wonderful speakers and the programs were well attended. I trust those of you who were able to attend ‘Big Camp’ enjoyed it and were blessed by the experience.
Just a reminder that Monday October 16 is a pupil free day. A number of our senior staff will be involved in panel meetings where Year 12 assessment tasks are verified. We will also have our 2018 preps and their parent/s visiting for an Orientation Day Program while the remainder of our staff attend in-service programs and planning meetings.
The Middle/Senior students will be involved in the Adventure Race on Wednesday October 18. Stradbroke, Moreton & Fraser Sport Houses have the opportunity to gain valuable points which will contribute to their overall score for the year.
Our Year 6 students will be away on their camp from Wednesday 25 until Friday 27 October. This is a great event for them and I know they will enjoy the activities planned during that week.
Finally, a big thank you to the Parents and Friends Association who spent a day at Bunnings over the weekend fundraising for the Junior School bike rack and Infant School seating project.
Thank you for reading the newsletter.
