Principal’s Briefing

Welcome to 2018. It has certainly been a warm start to the school year.

Thank you to those who attended the Year 7 & 8 Parent meeting last night, and to Mr Tams and the Middle School teachers for leading out. This is a busy week with our Infant School (P to 2) Information Night tonight, and our Junior School (3 – 6) Parent Meeting on Thursday evening along with a Music Meeting on Thursday evening for our Year 3 parents following the meeting with their teacher. Please make the time to attend these important meetings which will be held in the teachers’ classrooms, with the Year 3 Music Meeting in the Performing Arts Centre. For those interested in the Duke of Edinburgh Program, there is a meeting for you on Wednesday night, 7 February, from 7pm in the Performing Arts Centre. Our Year 8 camp is only a couple of weeks away.  This is always a highlight for our students and I am sure that they are looking forward to a very interesting and challenging time away.

Our Middle/Senior Swimming Carnival is happening tomorrow at the Caboolture Regional Aquatics Centre.  We would value your support if you are able to join us.

The 2018 SEQTA Engage Parent Portal will be available from Monday Feb 5 (Beginning of week 3). Parents who already have access will be able to log in and access 2018 information on their students. Parents new to Northpine or who have never logged in will be sent an invitation via email to set up their account. We are still populating the Portal so this year’s timetable information is not there as yet but is not far away.

We have had a number of new staff and students join us for 2018 and I am sure that you will make them feel very welcome as they settle in for the year. We also have many new families joining our community this year. Please make them feel supported and at home.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you this year and I pray that God’s Spirit will be with us as we work together to educate the important young people we share responsibility for.

God Bless

-Graham Baird, Principal
