Principal’s Briefing

Our Annual Open Night is happening tomorrow Wednesday 23 May. We would love to have you join us from 4:00 to 6:30 pm.  Our tuck shop will be open so why not come straight from work and have a bite to eat at school. This will be a great opportunity to join in the great activities the staff and students have prepared for you. Please plan to stay for the mini concert from 6:00 – 6:30pm as our students put a lot of effort into planning for their item and always enjoy performing for their parents. If you know of a friend or neighbour who is looking for a place to educate their children why not bring them along for the evening. Thanks for your on-going support of your College.

Our Yr 3, 5, 7, and 9 students have completed their NAPLAN Testing for 2018 and are probably pleased that it is over. Thanks for your support in what could be a stressful week for some of our students who do not really enjoy tests.

Year 6 parents, please take the time to join us this evening in the PA Centre for a very important meeting. The transition into Middle School is a significant one and we want to work together to make sure that each student is able to make that transition successfully so that they enjoy the variety of opportunities that our Middle School offers.

Our Year 9 students will be away on their survival camp being held at Somerset from Tuesday to Friday next week. I know they will grow from the challenges they will face and we are blessed that the weather, while cold in the mornings and evenings, should be sunny during the day. Thanks to the staff who have given so much of their time and energy planning the camp so that our students can grow from the many adventures they will experience.

It is difficult to believe that the term is half over. Exams begin for Yr 7-12 students in a couple of weeks so it is important that our students keep focused so that they give themselves the best chance of success.

Thanks for reading our news.

God bless.

-Mr Graham Baird, Principal
