Principal’s Briefing

Welcome to Term 3 and I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable holiday. Every Term end some of our families leave and new families join us. I would like to wish those who have left the best in their new situations and welcome those who have joined us for Term 3. I trust you will enjoy your stay at NCC.

We are hosting another group of Japanese students from Fukui Commercial High School again this year. Northpine students and their host families have always been very warm and welcoming to our visitors and this is a big reason they continue to visit Northpine each year. A big thank you to those families who are supporting the event by being host families. I am sure that the experience will also be a blessing to you and your family. The students arrived yesterday afternoon and have settled into their routine now.

I just returned to school having attended the Beenleigh Eisteddfod where our two Primary Choirs sang as a part of the competition. They sang beautifully and were very excited to have taken out first and second place for the Junior Choir Section of the competition. Congratulations to Mrs Wiggle and the Viva Voce Choir (2nd) and the Melodious Voices Choir who won the trophy for first place.

I would like to thank our Yr 7 teachers and other support staff for planning the Yr 7 camp program for 2018. Students will be on camp from 8-10 August which is only a couple of weeks away. I know that they will have a great time on their camp.

I have been informed that from time to time we have parents in a rush park in the disabled spaces thinking that they will not be long. Inevitably a person who is entitled to use the disabled parking space comes along and cannot access what has been put aside for them. Please do not use spaces that are designated disabled unless you have a pass and it is displayed on your vehicle.

Thanks for being a part of the Northpine family and taking the time to keep up with our news.

-Mr Graham Baird, Principal
