Principal’s Briefing

There is a lot on the program for the final four and a half weeks of Term 3. Our Year 10 and 11 students leave on their camps on Wednesday morning this week. Both Year 10 & Year 11 are heading for Sydney, Canberra and the snow.  They will enjoy their time away and we look forward to their return on Friday 31 August. Thanks to the teachers for planning and supervising these events and we pray that God will bless and care for both groups as they head out of the classroom for their education over the next ten days.

The end of August is fast approaching and brings with it an important event for our OP eligible Year 12 students. These students will be sitting the QCS test on Tuesday and Wednesday 4th & 5th of September. They have been well prepared for this event and we wish them all the best as they apply their knowledge and skills to the questions they are asked to respond to.

Big Camp begins on Friday 21 September and I would like to remind you that school finishes on Wednesday 19 September because of the number of people arriving to set up for camp on Thursday.   Big Camp is a great event and I ask you to consider attending some of the meetings if you are able. I am sure that you will receive a blessing. Caravans will be placed on the Primary top oval after the finish of school on Wednesday.

Please note that the College Office will close Friday 21 September and re-open for business Tuesday 2 October.

Book Week began yesterday and closes on Friday 24 August with the Book Character Parade. This has become an annual event and I am sure that we will see many of our students getting into the spirit of the event by dressing up as their favourite book character.

Monday was great fun for our Volleyball boys and Netball girls in the secondary school.

We had five schools visit for the day and there was some great competition. Thanks to our PE Department for organising this great Gala Day event.

Thanks for taking the time to read our news.

God Bless

-Mr Graham Baird, Principal
