Principal’s Briefing

Welcome to Term 2 2017. It is nice to be back after a restful break that was a bit longer than we usually get at this time of year as well as being blessed with two additional public holidays in the first two weeks of school. I trust that all of you are also rested and ready for the rigours of Term 2.

The Anzac Day Program on Monday was well organized thanks to our Chaplain Simo. I would like to thank past student Tim Jarvie for taking the time to address our students. Corporal Jarvie’s real life experiences help us understand that our freedom is directly related to the courage and commitment so many people have demonstrated and continue to demonstrate to protect our freedom. Thanks to those Northpine Staff, Students and Parents who joined the march up Anzac Avenue on Tuesday morning. Anzac Ceremonies remind us that Australia has a proud history.

General school photographs will be taken this Thursday 27 April while special group and family photos will be taken on Tuesday 22 May. More information about how to order those photos can be found here.

The 3, 5, 7 and 9 testing for 2017 will happen on May 9, 10 and 11. It is important that students are available for these important dates. It is also important that students come having had a good rest and healthy breakfast so that their minds are in the best possible condition to think.

Please keep Wednesday 17 May free so that you can join us for our annual Open Evening Expo. Watch this space for more information over the coming weeks.

The nip in the air in the mornings and evenings indicates the long hot summer might finally have come to an end. It is at this time of year that I feel particularly blessed to be living in Queensland. The days are simply awesome.

God Bless

-Graham Baird, Principal
